Rod Lawrence is a founder and Managing Partner of Network Realty Partners and one of Washington D.C.’s leading real estate executives. Mr. Lawrence has unrivaled experience developing multi-faceted mixed-use projects, negotiating public and private sector build to suit transactions, and leading large-scale property entitlement initiatives across multiple jurisdictions, often involving public-private partnerships.

Prior to founding Network Realty Partners, Mr. Lawrence spent 30 years with The JBG Companies as a Partner focused on creating and developing vibrant urban and suburban mixed-use, transit orientated communities. Mr. Lawrence served on JBG’s Investment and Management Committees and led the Development Group, which consisted of 70 professionals working on 80 projects worth over $10 billion at peak levels in 2016.  He headed the company’s government leasing and build-to-suit initiatives which led to transactions totaling more than 10 million square feet, which established JBG as one of the largest U.S. federal government landlords. 

Mr. Lawrence earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from The College of William and Mary.  He later earned a Master of Business Administration Degree in Real Estate and Urban Development at The American University.  He serves on the Board of Trustees of NAIOP and Gonzaga College High School and has served on and created numerous community development associations and Business Improvement Districts.  He was a founding member of The White Flint Partnership, The Twinbrook Partnership and the Rosslyn Business Improvement District.  He also serves as a Steering Committee member for LOCUS, a national coalition of real estate developers who advocate for sustainable, walkable development in America’s metropolitan areas.
