While at The JBG Companies, NRP Principals perceived an opportunity to transform the existing 500,000 square foot suburban office park, formerly known as Reston Executive Center, into an activated lifestyle destination prior to metro delivery. The repositioning plan included renovation of building lobbies and amenity spaces, as well as the strategic integration of 30,000 square feet of retail space, utilizing by-right excess density which had been available on the site since the building’s original construction. Initial retailers began their operations in late 2017, opening to strong demand from office tenants and community residents. This redevelopment serves as an excellent example of the NRP team’s ability to uncover hard-to-find, and often unrealized, opportunities.
